APW - Illinois, Sangamo Special, unmarked 60 Hour, 23J, 17S, white gold-filled OF original Sangamo Special rigid bow case, cuvette with signature ring, white enamel DS 17S dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, broad transverse band pattern nickel damascene, s#4720172. An attractive example of this top grade railroad watch which is highlighted by its particularly nice rigid bow case.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates, balance cock with few fine scratches, few micro-fine scratches elsewhere, few small specks of oxide to regulator spring and winding wheels; dial with outer chapter hls at 6, 9, and 10, two edge flakes under bezel at 2, negligible minuscule nick to upper rim of seconds-register; excellent hands, oxide to tip of minute; case shows very little wear, few pinpoint nicks to band at 5 and to adjacent perimeter of bezel and rear, no dents, excellent engraving detail; rigid bow with excellent engraving detail, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
